These guys claim to take monitors and recycle them (even non working):

The city of Raleigh has a list of places you might try:

There is a recycle/disposal center in North Raleigh off of Durant road
that takes old/broken CRT monitors. If you are an individual then they will
take a few for free. If you are a business then they charge a fee. I am
not sure how much the fee is but I suspect it is cheaper than shipping for a
heavy CRT.

Over here at Broadwick we're trying to get rid of some broken/yuccy
old CRT monitors. So, this is a call out for two things:

1) Boxes for the really, really broken monitors so we can ship them to
Dell for recycling

2) If you want a monitor for occassional use, might be a little dark
or blurry, drop me a line. We have more than enough to satisfy your
appetite for crappy displays.
