[TriLUG] Postfix POP3 delay question

I have implemented a postfix mail server and noticed that everyone who tries
to download messages waits 30 seconds before the server responds.  It makes
no difference if there are five or 100 messages to download.  It seems like
postfix has a delay built into it.  Is there a setting that I have missed?
