I have a couple of 9GB disks, not as quiet as you would like, but most likely a lot better than the ones in it, they are free. I may have an 18 or two. The other thing is how they are mounted, little rubber grommets go a long ways to quieting things down.

That's what I was thinking. So, that brings me back to my original
question .... what should I be looking for if I want to avoid a noisy
hard drive? I don't have any experience with SCSI drives and was
wondering if somebody had any tips. Don't want to find a good deal, buy
it, try it, and find myself back where I started with office neighbours
shaking their fists at me.

Thanks,
Owen

I'd probably look for some new drives.
