I pretty sure the bootfloppy just loads some drivers for cd and usb
drives and then looks for the actual DSL system on the CD, USB driver, or
hard drive.  Since DSL is 50 MB compressed it will not fit on a floppy.
Does you pentium have a CD rom drive?

  There are a very few linux versions that do fit on a floppy drive but
they are very stripped down command line only versions that generally only
serve a specific purpose like a dedicated router.  You can't get much of a
windowing desktop in 1.4 MB.
