so I finally wiped out my server (monsterjam.org) and started clean with gentoo, apache2, php5, 2.6.17, all the latest stuff. and finally got around to setting up the cacert I got at the meeting many months ago.. my question is wasnt the whole idea of getting the cacert ssl cert that they were trusted in certain (firefox/mozilla) browsers already? Im running the latest firefox 1.5.0.6 and I dont see cacert in there as a trusted authority? Did they fall out of grace with the firefox devs or what?
As I said in my presentation, you can find CACert's inclusion status at http://wiki.cacert.org/wiki/InclusionStatus If you're interested specifically in it's status of being including in Firefox, you can see the mozilla bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215243 I'll also take a quick moment to mention my presentation link: http://www.trilug.org/~lovelace/presentations/cacert-presentation.pdf And suggest people go buy the current issue (Sept, I believe) of Linux Magazine which has an article about CACert. :-) Cheers, Tanner -- Tanner Lovelace clubjuggler at gmail dot com http://wtl.wayfarer.org/ (fieldless) In fess two roundels in pale, a billet fesswise and an increscent, all sable. -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/
