Get a CueCat. Make sure you get a USB model. They can be found
for about $10 on ebay.

Gang,

For years I've been using a barcode scanner that attaches as a keyboard
"wedge" so the scanned barcode just shows up as keyboard typing.

Now I've got a new computer whose keyboard is USB. Any thoughts on if
it's possible to get an (affordable) barcode scanner that can work easily
with it?

Thanks.
