Does anyone know of an in-town source for server rail kits?
Mark, I have been selling pro-audio equipment to local churches and the like, and I may have several items in stock that could be useful. Of course I too have done my share of local computer server installs as well, and find that the pro-audio prices on the same things are cheaper. Are you looking for the rack rails? Or the rack-mount kits that allow a server to mount in a rack? Of the former, I have 8'in rails, and a couple of 10-space and 12-space rail kits. Of the latter, I have a couple of bolt-on adapters designed for tape decks and CD players, that have to fit some cpu cases. I also have a couple of different sized generic shelves that bolt on or clamp onto a chassis to mount it in a rack. If I don't have something, I know of several shops around town that carry quite a range of items. If you email me more details on what you are mounting (not just brand and model, but dimensions), and what you already have, I may be able to help you find the parts. I am assuming that since you are looking for a in-town source, you either don't want to wait to order something and need it fast, or that the server vendor's is either too expensive or not available.
