I have an older box running xUbuntu Dapper with an SB Live! audio card
installed. For some reason I am getting this strange result from lspci:
0000:00:14.0 VGA compatible unclassified device: Creative Labs SB Live!
EMU10k1 (rev 08)
Subsystem: Creative Labs CT4832 SBLive! Value
That's not strange.
Heh. Well then I should say: Strange to me.
What's the output from ``cat /proc/asound/cards && amixer''?
Output from cat /proc/asound/cards && amixer :
--- no sound cards ---
amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such device.
So the drivers aren't seeing it... right?

IIRC, one of my old RH7.3 boxes had an SBLive! At some point I
figured out that the regular sb module would make the card work. I
placed a "modprobe sb" in my /etc/rc.local. Of course, that was a
different dist with a different kernel, but it might be a clue.
I am going to try the OSS sb driver tonight, I think, and remove the
ALSA drivers
so they don't try to grab it.
Anyone have a tip on the lspci -vv output of these lines:
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 0
Region 0: I/O ports at 1000 [disabled] [size=32]
What does that disabled flag mean exactly?
Thanks a lot for the help guys!
