The Department of Revenue is seeking a short term (6 months maximun)
contractor to be part of the UNIX Administration Group. The selected
individual will provide applications and system administration support of
enterprise-class servers running UNIX operating systems. Individual will be
responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of
servers and systems software supporting major e-business applications for
the Agency.

Contractor is also responsible for planning and coordinating all changes
necessary to keep the infrastructure/systems current. This requires
investigation of hardware and software alternatives and new technologies to
meet the requirements of the Department.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements.
· Considerable experience in UNIX and LINUX system administration. Must be
familiar with, at a minimum, AIX, Solaris, and SUSE LINUX operating systems.

· Expert in developing the correct hardware configuration for the operation
of the above operating systems. This includes but is not limited to
developing the network connectivity options necessary to access the
departments Novell system and associated network backbone. All appropriate
access must be implemented, i.e. the EMC SAN.

· Experience with Cisco as well as Nortel switching is required.

· Excellent grasp of IT project management practices. Must be able to
develop a project plan for systems implementation, from purchase to
production operation.

· Excellent communication skills and be able to effectively and efficiently
work with a team in the execution of their duties.
