Looking forward to checking out your new goodies.

No new goodies for me, except for Magnus' old keyboard, which works like
a charm.

Here's a quick and dirty setup for Linux midi:

midi instrument --> synthesizer

Start the synthesizer first. Timidity is an easy one, although sound quality
is maybe not as good as other soft synths:

timidity -A400 -iA

It reports back the alsa ports to use. -A400 is 400% gain. The port is
something like 128:0

Plug in your midi instrument, and do --

aconnect -i

which will give the input port of the instrument. For the maudio keyboard,
it's 20:0

Then:

aconnect 20:0 128:0

This connects the keyboard to the synthesizer, and that's that.

The Rosegarden sequencer does all this automatically
