And depending on your reasoning/motivation, that may be perfectly valid. For me, the social impact of allowing a monopoly to own our data is not an externality. Allowing a business to sell what is essentially a fixed-cost item as if there were high marginal costs at the expense of many little guys is not an externality. /me gets back to work writing on a free platform using free tools.
