Folks, I have a very odd problem with CUPS in my office. I have a server (perrin.socsci.unc.edu) that runs my printer, and it shares the printer using CUPS. I also have a desktop machine I use for everyday tasks; it's got a DHCP-assigned dynamic IP address. The desktop machine uses CUPS to send print jobs to perrin.socsci.unc.edu.
This has all worked fine for a while. Today I decided (stupid me) to try the HPLIP drivers for the printer. Now, every time I try to access the CUPS server on the desktop machine (using https://localhost:631/admin), all the printer management buttons refer to perrin.socsci.unc.edu! So, for example, the "delete printer" button in the printers list has the following link: https://perrin.socsci.unc.edu:631/admin/?op=delete-printer&printer_name=vers o even though the referring page is: https://localhost:631/printers/ The upshot is that I can't manage the CUPS client on my desktop machine because the administration panel sends me straight to the server. Any ideas why this might be happening?
