I am finally migrating one of my old email servers to a new system. I'm running an IMAP server so my users can view their mailboxes at work and at home. What is everyone's preferred IMAP server?

I'm using Dovecot at home, Cyrus at $WORK. Both work very well for their respective environments.

Whatever you do, my experience between mailbox formats has been that mbox does not scale well and in fact can cause horrible problems when an individual folder gets too big. Maildir seems to get around this effectively, but you would be wise to tune your filesystem inode size with your Maildir filesystem (as well as your mount options).
