I once got the same error. It's due to the distro not having any such thing
as a "universe" repository anymore, only one main repository and the extras.
Edit your sources.list file with a text editor and change the first lines to
this:
# Trisquel repositories for supported software and updates
deb http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel dwyn main extras
deb http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel dwyn-updates main extras
deb http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel dwyn-security main extras
#Backports
deb http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel dwyn-backports main extras
Exclude backports or any other section you don't use.
