I understand that 3D will not work without the binary blobs and restricted  
drivers (neither of which I endorse), but I am wondering why Dan Trisquel  
can't get past the boot screen.  I booted the Ubuntu alpha3 live CD and have  
a full desktop using an nVidia GeForce 6100 (in fact I am replying using the  
live desktop).

I did notice on the live CD boot options, under F6, there's a "use only free  
software" option.  I will try that and see what I get.  Seeing as how  
Trisquel is derived from Ubuntu, I hope there weren't any upstream decisions  
that could adversely affect our functionality.
