Sorry for the late answer, I have been very busy these past weeks.
I think 50 games are too few for the great amount of quality games that are available for for GNU/Linux today. Yet, I followed your suggestion and re-checked all the games in RC, and removed a couple that are more than 5 years old, so now there are 55 games available in the DVD.
And yes I don't want the distribution to be bloated, but the size of the Live DVD is only 3.4 GB with 55 games, so I think it isn't bloated at all.
Regarding the quality of the games: Well I tested them personally and weed out the ones that I considered low quality or too old, like text console games, games with confusing user interfaces, projects in early development stage, etc. Also took out games that are redundant if they don't add any value to other versions, eg. There are at least 3 simcity clones in the repositories, but the only difference between is the maturity of the game, not the features they provide.
Furthermore, I only include games that have positive reviews in the Free Gamer blog (http://freegamer.blogspot.com/), my own judgment and of course, the suggestions I receive from users.
Thanks for your comments
