I can't agree, and there are several reasons why. (it's not directly related to free software)
On a smaller scale, you give companies with more money an advantage over companies with less, just because one can afford to spend more on advertisement. And an example, one of the reasons--and probably the main one--why Microsoft's OS and Apple's OS have more users, is because they can afford more advertisement over any GNU/Linux distribution. (I understand that you won't allow any Microsoft or Apple advertisement, but that's beside the point)
On a bigger scale, advertisement increases the prizes of all products, and does not contribute to society in any way - all advertisement does is hinder society.
