I managed to configure Awen using RAID1 for /boot and RAID5 for / with kvm.  
There was a problem with the boot partition as GRUB2 1.97 is unable to read a  
/boot partition on RAID 1. So I chose not to install GRUB2 during  
installation and later installed GRUB 1.98+20100804 manually. It is working  
just fine until now.
