According to this page i7 CPUs have free software compatible graphics cores  
build-in. At least as long it's "Sandybridge" or "HD".

Good luck building a free software computer! I'm doing the same thing atm.  
Right now, I wait for my hardware to arrive (got myself an MSI board with the  
X4500 GPU). The desktop effects are going to be awesome, as well as all the  
games : ) Nowadays a big number of my Windows-games have "Platinum" status  
with Wine.
