Boy, when I think about all that goes into a distro and the changing of  
software, it reminds me of the auto industry. Parts from here, parts from  
there.. They don't make'em, like they used to. While you had 3rd parties, you  
could always get parts from the maker and they were probably compatible with  
not only other years but other models as long as it wasn't anything to do  
with the body.

That makes me wonder, are there hidden concerted efforts to fracture  
communities? Wouldn't take much, just start an argument... which sadly takes  
at least 2.
