I dont't know about Freenet but please don't use filesharing over tor.  It  
greatly strains the network which has limited capacity.  When people  
fileshare over it the people who really need it (journalists, dissidents,  
whistleblowers, oppressed citizens) can't get to their websites.  The network  
is designed to be low latency but only has a certain amount of bandwidth  
depending on the relays available.  Lets say I'm in Iran and I try to reach a  
website I would like to have it load in a reasonable amount of time.  However  
a file-sharer may not care about how fast the files transfer.  They can  
always use the max amount of bandwidth and just go to sleep and the file  
should be done when they wake up.  This slows down everyone else though.

As far as why tor isn't in the repos in Slain I can't answer that question.   
I wasn't aware as I installed from the PPA.  Maybe I'll ask Ruben and find  
out.
