the wireless chipset is Atheros AR5007EG.

According to  
http://help.lockergnome.com/linux/Wireless-Card-Atheros-AR5007EG-work-Debian--ftopict512199.html,  
that chipset is supported by ath5k, which, as far as I know, is a free  
driver.
