[Trisquel-users] Kernel for netbooks

Is there a libre kernel for netbooks? I installed the regular Trisquel on my  
netbook and only get about 2 and a half hours of battery life when using  
XFCE/LXDE (and less when using GNOME). I only have a 3 cell battery but the  
Windows version apparently gives about 4 hours of battery life (my laptop did  
not come with Windows pre-installed). Is there any way to increase the  
battery life by using a lighter kernel perhaps?
