For the same reason we should rename i386 since it's not Intel-only (and gNewSense and Parabola should rename mipsel/mips64el, they even don't support any MIPS CPUs with these ports). Our download page names it just "64-bit", which is confusing since it doesn't support e.g. MIPS64. (Another problem is that not all Intel CPUs are amd64 or x86.) A link to a list of possibly supported CPUs would be a simpler solution to this problem.
