I would second the USB dongle.  We had a similar issue a few days ago with  
someone else that got solved  
(http://trisquel.info/en/forum/netgear-wg111-v3-problem).  I got a similar  
model for $10.00 refurbished.

As far as the policy goes if it is proprietary we don't include it.
