I personally think that LXDE is better looking than XFCE, but in comparing Trisquel's default look for Mini, it looks ok. The Linux Mint team really stepped up their game with their LXDE version looks wise with 10 and 11 and the Trisquel team should look at that for reference. I've tried other LXDE based distros and it seems to be the best looking out of the box.

Speaking of Linux Mint, I heard that 12 (based off of 11.10) will come out in two versions: full Gnome Shell desktop and a backported Gnome 2.32 into the Ubuntu 11.10 codebase coexisting with Gnome 3 libraries. The second option seems to be a lot of work, but their team is pretty solid for stable releases.

If Linux Mint is able to have Gnome 2 and Gnome 3 libraries co exist, would the Trisquel team be interested in taking their code and migrating it into Trisquel 5.5 ?
