I am not familiar with OpenEmbedded framework so I can't totally comment to  
its freedom status.  However if it is MIT license that is a free software  
license.  Just because something is not in the Trisquel repositories does not  
mean you can automatically conclude that it is non-free.  There is free  
software that is not in the repositories.  We get our packages mostly from  
upstream so for example if Ubuntu or Debian has not packaged a particular  
program it is unlikely it is included in Trisquel even if it is free (unless  
someone specially added it)
