I'm gonna chew on all that info, but right now i have doubts about putting /tmp in memory, like Chris recommended and sphynx also uses, from what i've seen in his fstab file:
Isn't there a danger in placing /tmp in memory (just like an app could fill up all that partition's available space it could also use up all the system's available RAM and, eventually, swap space, taking the system down to it's knees, which would be much worse than simply filling the whole /tmp partition)? If i do choose to place /tmp in memory, how do i do it? Don't create any partition for /tmp and just edit /etc/fstab after installing the system?
