Nobody here will answer this question on how to manually install drivers (if
at all possible). The solution to the problem is to buy a replacement wifi
card. You can get USB if you are uncomfortable opening your laptop.
You need one the following chipsets if you go with USB: RTL8187B, RTL8187L,
or AR9170. The last one is an wireless N chipset. The first two are probably
preferable though. Sometimes N is a problem. N PCI and N PCIe Atheros
chipsets are generally better though. The problem with N is there were many
draft versions and flaky implementations. The latest drivers work better to
get around some of the bad router implementations though.
