Which version of Abrowser were you using? On version 9.0.1, the newest one  
for Trisquel, when I right click on a link I have:
1. Open Link in New Tab
2. Open Link in New Window

I am quite sure this is how it has been for a long time now.
But surely this isn't reason enough to go through all the trouble of getting  
IceCat?
