Chromium from the Ubuntu repository (Based on Chrome) is a little bit better. I believe the privacy issues were fixed although the non-free components might not have been. If I recall correctly Rubén indicated it may be possible to add Chromium back into Trisquel at some point.
To be clear Chrome is not 100% free software. This much I know for sure. The
Google release of the software integrates Adobe Flash. You don't want to
install the Google version because it has privacy related issues as well as
adobe flash. In addition it links to a plug-in repository which shows you
non-free plug-ins.
