When your write that "both versions of trisquel 5.5 the normal( the gnome
fallback ) and the mini(lxde) flavour installed on my laptop", do you mean
each of them has its own root partition? You could simply have installed the
package trisquel-mini (and, if you wish, trisquel-mini-recommended) on the
GNOME edition. In this way, you do not waste disk space, need not configure
the same components several times and need not reboot to go from one
environment to the other (you only need to close the session and select the
other one from the login screen).
