I would, do all of that, but I'm just not willing to part with my system.   
The GPU is a Radeon HD 7970.  The CPU and motherboard are a Xeon e3-1240 v2  
and an Asus P8BWS.  It's my primary machine.  I do also have an HP netbook  
that I'm working on removing the BIOS whitelist on so I can swap Ubuntu for  
Trisquel, but that's not much of an issue.  I would just like to drop the  
proprietary drivers because they're the only thing holding me back.  I bought  
the card before I realized that the were fully free distros out there, and  
seeing as it is so high end, I don't want to "trade down."
