If I understand what you are asking the answer is they aren't. I haven't seen
a centered touchpad in years. All laptops with wide screen displays have the
touchpads off center. In fact I think those prior to widescreen were also off
center although not as noticeable due to the 4:3 screens.
That said I'll try and get some pictures up for all to see some time next
week.

Try measuring your older system some time. I think you'll find this to be
true.
That said I'll try and get some additional pictures up for all to see some

As this model does not thave a number pad it probably won't be as annoying to
you as your older model is (assuming it has a number pad).
