Who knows how many people have been put off Trisquel here at the first hurdle? I would have had to choose a different distro if I hadn't found this post. > > I made a forum account just to post this. Many thanks to the developers of this excellent free distro, but please fix this bug! (or at least warn people to disable internet if they get the bug!)
My understanding of the release process here (similar in Ubuntu too) is that once a release is out the oven, it's done. Except for LTS releases (so, upcoming Trisquel 6 series), there won't be new versions of the installer, so this bug will remain - it would be a good idea to test this in the upcomgin version 6 and see if it still is there. If anything, this should be highlighted in release notes, but there won't be a new installer for 5.5.
