That goes without saying, for me at least. Any closed and/or proprietary  
anything is a huge gaping security hole (sooner or later) that leaves you at  
the mercy of a vendor (whose priority is profit, rather than the security of  
your system). I REFUSE to put myself in that situation.

Whereas the GPLcommunity I trust, because I've seen countless security  
holes/bugs fixed, usually within hours, for the past several years now.
