On the subject of Windows 8: a lot of people are complaining about the new
user interface for Windows 8. It almost seems like a great distraction for
the new anti-features that Windows 8 will be bringing in:
- Windows 8 will bring the proprietary Adobe Flash plugin by default. This
will mean more users may be forced to rely on it.
- Windows 8 for ARM will be bringing in Restricted Boot, an anti-feature
which prevents users from installing other operating systems.
- Windows RT won't be able to run anything not approved by Microsoft.
- Anyone who wants to install software on their Windows 8 ARM computer has to
agree to a 3900+ word agreement, separate from the EULA.
- Windows 8 users will be forced to agree not to bring a class action lawsuit
against Microsoft.
- Microsoft has admitted can remotely delete apps.
For some strange reason, The Right To Read doesn't seem like such a distant
future any more.
