Yes of Course!During the installation double check that it's the Hard Drive you're installing the bootloader to and Not the usb key! What aliasbody said will save you from having the problem at all! Thanks aliasbody!
In relation to your question. It's never made any difference to me whether I type:
sudo update-grub or sudo update-grub2So I'm sure you're good with either one, but personnally I've never bothered with the '2'. Whatever you fancy. :-)
