Ubuntu 12.04, the Ubuntu version which Trisquel is based on, includes
LibreOffice 3.5.4 with security updates by default:

Trisquel uses the packages provided by Ubuntu or else it would be too hard to
maintain.
Hopefully, future versions of Trisquel will track Ubuntu more closely. But
that can't happen without more help from the community. Specifically,
maintaining package helpers[1] and fixing bugs[2] (especially freedom-related
bugs) are possibly the most important tasks.
