Although we would like everybody to take free software seriously, what you do on your own computer is ultimately your decision. What we kindly ask of you is to refrain from posting anything in regards to suggesting nonfree software as an option on our forums as it may tempt some people to use it (thus going against the spirt of the Free Software Movement).

A more serious reason is that if we were to suggest on the forums that using nonfree software is ok, we would lose our FSF-approved status as the forums are an extension of Trisquel's documentation. We would therefore be no better ethically than the common GNU/Linux distributions.
