If you are going to tear down your home directory, then back up the .gnupg directory in your home (e.g. ~/.gnupg in a terminal or enable the "show hidden files/dirs" in your favorite file manager) and then put it back when you're done, if you're keeping the home directory, you shouldn't lose anything.
