It's a matter of preference.  I don't use it because I don't value the visual  
effects it has over Metacity.  And it obviously uses more computer resources  
than Metacity.

I don't know if Compiz causes issues with videos on Youtube.  You should test  
and see.  You can temporary disable Compiz from "System Settings" -> "Window  
manger and effects".  Keep in mind there's a bug with disabling Compiz for
