protesting the Vietnam war. People complain and wave banners and try to get  
the word out, but the people pulling the strings do what they want anyways."

It would have been sad if there would have been no people waving banners.
Always the same: in case of success, those campaigns are great and adorable;  
in case of failure, those campaigns were in vain since the very beginning.
