Well I could use LibreJS, but I didn't really like the sidebar that much. I'm considering changing it a little for my own needs, but I've been browsing the web without JS for at least two years now (I think).
For the average person, having the option to enable/disable won't be an issue and the minority (like yourselves) are more tech saavy and will find a way to disable it or use an extension like NoScript instead.
