I recently bought an ASUS notebook with Intel i5 processor and Intel HD 4000
integrated graphics. It has an aluminum case. Wi-Fi works. Camera works.
Two things don't work with Trisquel. One is Bluetooth and the other is SD
card reader.
It was also more expensive then what you want (about $600).
When I was searching for a laptop, ASUS was the best brand choice for me,
because ASUS computers usually had Atheros-based Wi-Fi. But I'm not sure it
would be a good choice for you. They might offer different Wi-Fi on different
markets or with cheaper processors.
