If possible record a radio show and open that file in audacity.
Analyse the song and ad regions and notice if there is possible
amplification to check whether the hypothesis is true.
You may seek out the g/ladspa[*], g/lv2[*], dssi, ALSA[*] hackers to
find if your  its possible!


[*] I once read that ALSA is implementated in the kernel, Linux that's
why I didn't emphasize on calling it "AG/LSA". About the ladspa and
lv2(ladspa version 2) I don't know how those works.
