First of all, I would try to install the package named  
"libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental". It is readily available in the repository and  
can be installed through the Synaptic package manager.

If it is not enough, I would try a newer kernel? To get the latest stable  
version of Linux-libre, you can follow what is written on this Web page.
