Startpage is actually better, but duckduckgo is also very good in some  
points.
My advice: use Tor Browser, and you can even use duckduckgo as a hidden  
service, which will probably keep you private enough.
Any other way, they can still know it is you, and the browser itself gives  
away what OS you are using (unless Abrowser was modified not to, what I don't  
think it was...)

So, use Tor Browser if you need privacy.
