YouTube forbids downloading videos too.[0] It's a stupid, unjust rule, especially because all streaming is is downloading and showing the video at the same time. Basically, the rule means "you are not allowed to choose where the video is saved or when it is deleted unless we give you permission to do so"; in effect, they're trying to claim ownership of your computer. Either refuse to use the site entirely, or disobey that rule when it is convenient to do so.

Anyway, what did you try? What I would try are:

- UnPlug[1]
- ViewTube[2]
- Disable Gnash (see if a fallback HTML5 player loads)
- Use the User Agent Switcher extension to identify as an iPad
- Download the video with youtube-dl or other free programs/extensions

If none of these work, I have no other ideas, so I would try to find the video on another host.
