It's definitely the ia32-libs package that is causing my problem, preventing  
the installation of any further software or updates.

I've deleted Trisquel from my system though I do have the partition empty and  
ready for it again. When I do try it again it will be the 32-bit version of  
Trisquel or the 64-bit version but without the drivers for my printer, i.e.,  
I won't use the printer with Trisquel.
